WILLIAM D. GENTRY
Born April 8, 1959, in Encino, California.
1964. Moved to Springfield, Missouri, where I was raised.
1977. Albuquerque, New Mexico. Attended the University of New Mexico, where I began majoring in Creative Writing and Fine Arts–Studio.
1979 – 1981. Bloomington, Indiana. Attended the University of Indiana–Bloomington, where I majored in Fine Arts–Painting and graduated with a BA in Fine Arts.
1981 – 1984. Los Angeles, California. Worked as a glass-etching artist and designer at Western Art Glass and Custom Glass & Mirror Co.
1985. New York City. Pursued careers as a singer-songwriter and fine-arts painter.
1986 – 1995. Redwood City, California. Worked in my family’s electronics business, Postrionic, as a salesman on the west coast (USA) and in Latin America and Asia.
1995. Moved to Singapore, where I opened manufacturing operations for Postrionic and then, later, in India and China.
2004. Siem Reap, Cambodia. Founded the Colors of Cambodia Gallery and children’s art school.
2017. Became chairman of A World of Difference, an NGO focusing on art education for less privileged communities around the globe. Initiated programs at the YMCA in Tucson, Arizona, and Pune, India.
